Aston Martin DB4 & DB5 Aluminium Headlining Roof Trim
- DB4
- DB5
Handmade aluminium headlining internal roof trims fit into the roof lining of DB5 and DB4 saloon cars.
Both trims push into a recess within the roof headlining to approximately the depth of the aluminium profile. Each trim forms part of the vehicle’s internal detailing which also gives occupants a little more headroom.
Available as a pair or singularly, we have made these trims for more than 30 years.
Derived from dimensions taken from original parts, and fabricated using our own DMark® custom tooling, jigs, patterns and aids. The material is a drawn aluminium profile that is skillfully wrapped around our custom patterns to match the vehicle’s swept roof contours.
The outer surface is hand finished, but not to a highly reflective polish (unless requested by the customer), and is fitted as-is.
Trim options include having fixture holes, no holes or with holes drilled to spacings supplied by the customer. Fastener positioning can differ from car to car, and for this type of trim in particular a vehicle’s roof frame tabs can vary, which is why we often supply these trims without any holes.
The inner aluminium faces (the faces that are visible) are hand finished with a fine abrasive medium, which is a smart, natural aluminium looking finish, as-per factory examples. They are not polished, although we can polish this surface if requested.
For the most part, these mouldings are Made-to-Order however we do normally have material in-stock.
Fixtures and fasteners are not supplied.
Customers will be aware that, in particular, when vehicles have had extensive repairs; their bodywork, paintwork and the extent of body-filler used can change the panel-shape of the zone mouldings are meant to sit. At DMark® we have taken great care to replicate the most original shape known but occasionally that may differ from the surface geometry of a vehicle. A similar scenario could also mean stud holes in the bodywork may differ to the stud positions of new DMark® parts.
Both the front (in the roof-lining above the driver and passenger seats) and rear headlining trims (in the roof-lining above the rear seat) that fits both the DB4 and DB5 saloon cars.
The front trim is a continues loop whereas the rear trim has two ends that are chamfered back.
Customers can give us exacting measurements of where they’d like the angled ends cut, we can cut them as to our patterns, or we can allow a little extra material and cut square so they can trim and tailor themselves.
